Opened by the Under Secretary of State for the FCO and DfID, Access to Capital will focus on finance for business and alternatives to traditional funding in both public and private markets.

The confirmed speakers are the former head of emerging markets at HSBC as the event’s chair, the private equity firm SkyBound Capital, the diaspora investment advisory platform Homestrings and UK Export Finance. 

Skybound have a large Africa practice and are looking to expand their financing to micro and small cap businesses hit by COVID-19. They’re currently investing between $250k and $10mn and will be followed by Homestrings, one of the world’s leading diaspora investment advisory platforms for public, private and multilateral organisations.  UK Export Finance will set out their appetite for emerging markets in sub-Saharan Africa the COVID-19 environment.

An hour of presentations will be followed by an interactive discussion session
