We are pleased to invite DKUK’s Patron Circle Members to this exclusive virtual round-table talk with HE Ambassador Dominic Schroeder, British Ambassador to Denmark and HE Ambassador Lars Thuesen, Danish Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom has formally exited the European Union and is currently going through the transition period set to end by 31st December 2020. However, there are good intentions from the United Kingdom and the European Union that both want to maintain good relations going forward including trade relations. That also goes for the trade between the United Kingdom and Denmark. Throughout history there have been strong ties between the two Kingdoms and trade through the 20th century prospered like never before. The UK is one of Denmark’s most successful export markets, and Denmark ranks in the top 25 export markets for UK companies, which is remarkable considering the scale of difference in terms of population.

At this round table we will hear the Ambassadors’ thoughts and visions about the future of DK-UK diplomatic and trade relations incl most recent updates and observations of the UK’s exit strategy from the EU. We will then invite all attendees to discuss the Ambassadors’ presentations, share observations, plans and thoughts related to this topic.

The event will take place under Chatham House Rules, which in brief says information disclosed during a meeting may be reported by those present, but the source of that information may not be explicitly or implicitly identified – please see full write up of the rules laid out using Chatham House rules here.

Note! Invitations to all Patron’s Circle members will be emailed directly.

Patron’s Circle

The Danish-UK Association is proud and privileged to have Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark as Patron. Her support has an immense value to all members adding gravitas to the membership and the purpose of the Association.

A Forening – the Danish word for Association – and being a member of such an organisation as a Corporate, Individual or Family member means we are all working together to add value for each other, fostering and maintaining relations between the United Kingdom and Kingdom of Denmark.

Established as a not-for-profit organisation, the Danish-UK Association offers high quality connections, professional and social events with opportunities to knowledge-share, entertain clients and staff.  It facilitates cross membership groupings within many sectors of interest in trade, and also culture and friendship. The Association also offers access to business lounge facilities, for meetings or for a place to work between meetings.

Patron’s Circle members recognise that being a part of  a “Forening” like this implies a broader level of support to ensure that events and activities are properly resourced. This is done philanthropically to support the community through this extra membership and by brand association.

All current members can apply for this add-on Patron’s Circle membership:

We feel it is important that all members have the opportunity to join The Patron’s Circle. It is not only corporate members that can opt for this additional membership. If within means Family and Individual members are welcome and encouraged to consider it too, as a way to support the Forening.

Patron’s Circle members enjoy a number of special benefits like attending this event here – and importantly have the opportunity to influence and shape the future of our organisation, through formal meetings, and dialogue throughout the year. Patron’s Circle members represent the Association and work to further its objectives. The Patron’s Circle is a corner stone in our efforts to create a true Forening.

Are you already a regular member of DKUK and would you like to opt for this additional philantripic Patron’s Circle membership too?
