The Fair was started in 1954 by the organisation Danish Women in England to work as a fundraiser for the Danish Church. It has since then been a major contributor to the church. The whole church and its gardens are transformed into a mini-Denmark. Where there are opportunities to buy Danish food, design, antiques, craft, and second-hand books.

There will be various food offerings such as Hot Dogs, smørrebrød, kransekage, vegan choices and plenty of faxekondi, beer and coffee.

This year the fair will be opened by Dame Judi Dench and several local school choirs will perform. Along with fun games and activities for children.

We are selling Raffle tickets from now on online for the Great Danish Fair Raffle.

Here you can win many great prizes like holidays from Wildland Cottages in Scotland, a stay at Hotel Bethel in Copenhagen, and a summerhouse stay in Denmark. There is also exciting Danish design from Carl Hansen, AE studio, Ramsign and Nina’s House. Danish delicacies from Ekte, Ole & Steen, ScandiKitchen og Bagekursus med Maria. Or take a mental journey with Moments by Inga, a guided tour with Grethe Hauge and words by Flemming Kloster Poulsen.

The winners will be announced at the Fair, but if you did not win the Danish design you were hoping for, maybe you want to participate in the auction on the day which is conducted by Lars Tharp from BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.
