September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month and the start of the first school year where RSE is a compulsory part of the curriculum, which is great for the next generation, but how much did you get taught at school?

HPV is an extremely common virus that will affect 80% of us in our lives, that is transmitted through skin-to-skin sexual contact. Usually our immune systems clear it on their own, but sometimes, the virus lingers and can develop into several types of cancer- head and neck, cervical, vulval, vaginal, penile and anal cancer.

Eve research found that three in ten adults have never heard of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and over 40% have a poor understanding of it (Yougov August 2021). So if you’re not clear on HPV, you aren’t the only one!

On Tuesday 28th of September at 5:30pm we will be joined by a panel of experts in sexual health, HPV and sex education to go back to school and chat all things HPV, raise awareness of it and break down some of the many myths that surround it.

  • Dr Karen Gurney- Clinical Psychologist and Psychosexologist
  • Dr Anita Mitra aka ‘Gynae Geek’- Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
  • Florence Schechter- Founder of the Vagina Museum

So sign up today, join us, learn about HPV and what you can do to try and look after your health!
