Founded in 2010, Managing Directors Martin Cotter & John Cusins had a vision to establish a financial advice and investment firm which challenged the norm and was futuristic in its cost structure and use of technology. Lumin’s ethos is simple: ‘Clear plan, brighter wealth’ bringing honest straightforward financial plans to our clients.

It has been these strong core values which have been key to the business’s success.

2019 has been a fantastic year for Lumin, one of their biggest achievements has been the acquisition of Hyperion Financial Planning in April 2019. The transition was a huge success, as a result they are keen to continue making future acquisitions. They see acquisitions not just about growth but about finding a company with the same core values as theirs, where the client is also the focal part of their business.

For the 2nd year running they are delighted to have made the Top 100 FT Adviser awards and the Top 100 New Model Advisor awards.

Lumin has also gained accreditation by the Personal finance society for embracing the code of good conduct and high professional standards for advising on pension transfers and awarded the Pension Gold Standard title.

External recognition of this kind is a great appreciation of all the hard work and efforts by their specialist team of chartered financial planners, investment managers, accountants, actuaries and paraplanners.

This year, Lumin Wealth Management acquired Luton-based Hyperion Financial Planning as wellas receiving the accolade of being a Personal Finance Society gold standard pension transfer specialist firm. Its Money Info app helps clients navigate their financial information on the go while giving them peace of mind between adviser consultations. Lumin is not afraid of constructive criticism, as clients are also asked to provide feedback when possible so the firm can adapt and continue to provide the best service and advice possible. Bringing in new blood is front of mind for Martin Cotter as he aims to train up the next generation of advisers under the firm’s apprenticeship programme.
