My Dad once told me: 'The quickest way to reach your dreams is to wake up!'

My Dad once told me: ‘The quickest way to reach your dreams is to wake up!’

I was recently reminded of this when Djøf London, in collaboration with DKUK and Köd, hosted a talk by Denmark’s own daredevil, Per Wimmer.

Per Wimmer‘s talk had the audience captivated from start to finish. It is fascinating to see how one person has mastered such a diverse set of skills and checked off so many extraordinary experiences from their bucket list which include: acquiring multiple academic degrees to being the first person in the world to jump tandem over Mount Everest, flying Russian MIG-25 over Siberia at an altitude of 80,000 feet (24 km) at Mach 3 (which by the way, is 3 times the speed of sound) and L-39 fighter jets, competing in land speeds, and soon-to-be space visitor.

Per Wimmer’s message: if you dream of something, why wait? Take action and make it happen and also shared his seven values which may help inspire others:

1)   Think out of the box: Allow yourself to be inspired.
2)   Follow your heart and passion: Have purpose. Have fun. Be authentic.
3)   Focus and execution.
4)   Time discipline: Be conscious about time allocation.
5)   Teamwork: The sum of the parts is greater than the individual parts alone.
6)   Take calculated risks: Assess the risks-rewards ratio. Apply sustainable solutions respecting the environment & scarce resources.
7)   Inspire others: Especially children, and encourage them to live out their dreams.

I look forward to reading Per Wimmer‘s new book. If you want your own copy, you can get one here: https://lnkd.in/dH5QZf4B

Thank you Deanne Lintorn and Gunnar Papendick Larsen, for great collaboration and to Morten P. Ortwed for curating an excellent menu and service in the cozy ambiance of Köd, bringing the UK and Danish community together.
